It was with disbelief that I read my pianist friend Mindy's Facebook post--Ann Marsden, a well-known photographer in the Twin Cities, had passed on at age 55. That was no small light that went out. She was known in the Twin Cities for photographing actors, musicians, artists. And she was known because she was so excellent at photography. Not only was she taking some random college student's headshots (um, mine...), but when I arrived for my sitting, there was a portrait of Bobby McFerrin that she had shot two weeks prior. And she had just recently returned from a magazine assignment shooting a garden out East somewhere.

Mindy suggested anyone who had headshots or photos done by Ann Marsden post them as a tribute to her work. I count myself now very lucky to have had photos done by Ann, even if they were done 12 years ago. They are remarkable.

It was only last night that I realized that although I don't use these headshots any more, however her work permeats my career as the basis of my logo. Look closely at the first photo below and you will see where the the eye in my logo comes from.

So thank you Ann, for incredible photos that always got noticed. Thank you for letting your light shine.

Have a look-see...
